Went to see Melissa at Bardog last night. Had to
bring my own lemonade because she couldn't find
any. After that was gone, Kasey made a glass from
fresh lemons and the sweetener they have. Melissa
bought me an ice-cream cake from Baskin-Robbins.
I think everyone got a piece, such as were left.
Her boyfriend, Jason, got beat up. He was working the door. He was bringing someone outside, and his friend sucker punched Jason in the jaw and knocked him out and then really beat on him. Broke his jaw and his nose, and broke his eye sockets. He hasn't been able to eat for nine days. He drank some milk and it came out his nose. After a week, they went to the emergency room. No waiting. And they teamed up to do tests. But no surgery. Just appointments for specialists. Last year he was shot, and now this. Melissa's boyfriends sure have a hard time. Yesterday was my fiftieth birthday. Lot's of people wished me a happy birthday on Facebook. Mom made turkey and stuffing with mashed potatoes, asparagus, red cabbage, spinach salad, and cranberry sauce. And for a birthday cake I had cheesecake. The Koch brothers bribed and threatened the "Freedom Caucus" to vote against the healthcare bill. Trump stuck it to them by keeping Obamacare, which has a big tax on the rich. Obamacare is actually in pretty good shape and is not about to collapse or "explode". It was pretty twisted for Trump to blame the Democrats, but he's a pretty twisted guy. We'll see how it goes, but for now, many people get to keep their subsidized health insurance, which seems like a good thing. Maybe we'll even get to single-payer some time. Yesterday, also, our neighbor across the street, Don, died. He was pretty sick with congestive heart failure. He was on oxygen, and finally had a heart attack. Happy Kalends of February! Well, I missed updating my blog in January. Trump got inaugurated. Not impeached yet. I can only hope. He is probably in violation of the emoluments clause of the Constitution. And that muslim ban seems suspicious.
